Prison theme restaurant opens in NE China city

A recently-opened restaurant in Northeastern China's Jilin city has become incredibly popular thanks to its prison theme, dfic reported on Wednesday.

Diners at the restaurant are able to experience prison life without giving up their freedom, where they can enjoy their meal in locked cages and get their food through a window.

In the restaurant, customers are treated to "prison fare" inside the separate cells while dining tables have prison insignia to indicate their number. A special prison set menu has been provided and is available for 12 Yuan.

According to the restaurant owner, the restaurant has been designed to attract customers but he also hopes that it will serve as a warning to citizens to 'cherish their freedom and stay away from crimes'.
