Indonesia hopes to attract more Chinese visitors

Updated: 2008-09-04 17:27 JAKARTA -- Indonesian tourism industry has wished mutual support in developing tourism with Guangdong Province of China, an official from the Indonesian tourism and culture ministry said on Thursday. "We know that Guangdong is the province which attracts the most foreign tourists compared with other provinces in China," expert staff of Indonesian tourism and culture ministry Titien told Xinhua. The Guangdong people are interesting in visiting other countries for recreations, the official said, adding "Indonesia is one of the places visited mostly by Guangdong people. And the number of Indonesian people who visited Guangdong last year was predicted around 297,000,"she said. Seeing this situation, the ministry hoped that there will be more Guangdong tourists to visit Indonesia this year. The Ministry coordinated with the association of Indonesian tour and operators and the travel agencies to takes this opportunity to promote the tourism of the country. |
