China's national legislature hails Party leadership as 'essential element, greatest strength'

BEIJING - China's national legislature underlined Party's leadership when summarizing its work in the past five years on Sunday.
The leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC) is the essential element and greatest strength of the people's congress system, said a work report of the 12th National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, to be delivered by Zhang Dejiang, at the first session of the 13th NPC.
"We must uphold the centralized, unified leadership of the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core," the report said.
The national legislature should fully implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, it said.
