RoyalABC, a global education company, launched its world-first integrated language learning and 21st century skills product in Shanghai on June 29, bringing together traditional British English language education, classroom teaching and interactive technology designed to help Chinese children.

Established in late 2014 by British co-founders Dominic Richards and Martin Beeche, the product is a language learning ecosystem for Chinese children aged three to six that incorporates a growth mindset and four key qualities of 21st century learning - critical thinking, creativity, communication and collaboration - that is essential to the a child's development.

According to Beeche, the curriculum, comprising more than a thousand course modules, is mapped to the major learning areas in Chinese education and overlaid with cutting edge technology, artificial intelligence and best-in-class teaching methods in the program.

The system will be introduced to the curriculum at more than 50 privately run kindergartens and training institutions for children education across China in the new semester in September.

"Providing a disruptive learning platform that addresses the gaps in education globally is driven by the belief that with the right teaching and learning environment in the classroom and at home, children everywhere can prosper," said Beeche.

"What we recognized in our long collaboration with Chinese educators, officials, kindergartens, and parents, was we had to have an ecosystem approach to learning. Kindergartens and teachers needed products possible to help them teach in the classroom, children needed to be given an education that would make them well rounded people, and parents needed to be kept fully informed and have the option to participate in their child's learning," he said.

Richards said RoyalABC will provide a fun, interesting and delightful learning environment that complements the traditional learning method.

"The launch of the product will help share Chinese language and culture with Britain and with the world, and enhance the partnership in the education division between China and the UK to learn and give opportunity to the other side, as the world has more voices calling for closer international relationship," said Richards.

Xin Ruihua, the principal of a preschool in Qingdao, Shandong province, where the system will be introduced, said that child education should be a comprehensive learning experience that inspires kids' interest to study.

"I'm interested by course modules and topics provided by the software, and its flexible design system enables teachers to deliver interesting and diverse classes," said Xin.

"Parents can also be as involved as possible in the children's learning when the software is used at home. I'm looking forward to seeing the children's achievements after using it," she said.
