Ronny Tong Ka-wah, a senior counsel in Hong Kong, says its "unfair" and "demeaning" to say that Hong Kong's judicial independence would be eroded with the National Security Law, which stipulates that related cases would be handled by certain judges designated by the chief executive.
Such accusations show a distrust of the city's judicial system and defame the judges' professionalism, he adds.
