In its pursuit of modernization, China is pioneering a way toward a better future for the world

From the establishment of the People's Republic of China in 1949, the reform and opening-up in 1978, to today's new era, changes in China have been breathtaking. On top of extraordinary economic, social and political development, China has also made remarkable achievements on the international stage.

There are numerous examples of these. With a win-win vision, China has proposed and promoted a series of international initiatives. China is playing an important role in the construction of a new multipolar world. China has been establishing economic, financial and mutually beneficial relationships in a democratic and respectful manner, emphasizing common development and building a bright future.

Standing in stark contrast to the single great power political hegemony imposed by the United States, these China-led initiatives and models have received positive and widespread responses from many countries globally.

In 2013, President Xi Jinping proposed the Belt and Road initiative, which aims to build a new Silk Road to promote a community with a shared future for mankind, global modernization and the well-being of all mankind. Starting from the Eurasian continent and extending to Africa, the Americas and Oceania, the initiative has been widely welcomed and has attracted the participation of more than 150 countries.

China is a major economic and trade partner for Peru and many other Latin American countries. The Latin American and Caribbean region as a whole has greatly benefited from the BRI.

Built by Chinese enterprises, the Chancay Port project will give Peru a strategic foothold on the Pacific coast that will drive the deep integration of South America into the global trade network. We can't help but envision that, one day in the future, high-speed trains will travel along the transoceanic railway at a speed of 330 kilometers per hour, loading soybeans and other products from Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay, Bolivia and Peru onto ships with a capacity of 400,000 metric tons. This railway will greatly accelerate the development of Latin America, especially the South American region.

Another vivid example is in Africa. China and Africa have carried out a wide range of projects to drive economic growth and mutually beneficial cooperation, including providing technical training for thousands of young people.

Faced with China's robust growth, the United States has adopted provocative economic measures and other approaches to curb China's initiatives and financing expansion. It also attempts to interfere with China's cooperation with Latin America, which it considers to be within its sphere of influence.

China's economic strength, international competitiveness and technological innovation have grown significantly, which is a powerful testament to the superiority and potential of China's socialist system. In just over 70 years, China has transformed from a fragmented and impoverished land into a prosperous nation that is a harmonious home for multiple ethnic groups.

China has evolved: its underdeveloped industries have become world-leading in various industrial sectors; weak technological capabilities have been transformed into ground-breaking innovations; outdated transportation systems upgraded to first-class modern infrastructure; the world's largest rural society has become the largest urban society; education guarantees a strong talent pool. Once a nation with a large population, weak military and backward technological capabilities, China stands to the fore as a world leader in various areas. All these changes speak to the huge success of China's socialist modernization.

In essence, socialist modernization is the modernization of the people. Therefore, we can gauge the success of socialist modernization by the raised educational levels. Socialist modernization is a historical process for China to gradually narrow the gap with developed countries and achieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

The foundation of all these achievements lies in socialism. China's journey toward socialist modernization is also a journey toward the center of the world stage and the great rejuvenation of the nation. Compared to the US, China has made big strides forward in terms of total GDP, exports, production capacity, and the number of patents. China has achieved its first centenary goal, which was to build a moderately prosperous society in all respects, and it is now marching toward the second centenary goal of building a great modern socialist country.

The Communist Party of China resolutely follows the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics. This commitment is not only rooted in its understanding of the laws of nature, but also arises from its understanding of laws that underlie social and human development. It is because of this that the CPC constantly inspires the Chinese people to strive for their own interests and future, and dedicate themselves to the great cause of building a socialist country.

Each country should build up its capabilities according to its own specific conditions. This involves enhancing organizational and managerial capabilities, particularly the ability to understand people's needs and aspirations, so as to effectively address their concerns and difficulties.
