A media delegation comprised of representatives from the internet information offices of the Yangtze River Delta region, media outlets, key commercial websites, and live streaming platforms embarked on a themed reporting journey starting from Nanjing South Railway Station in Jiangsu province on Wednesday.

During the three-day tour, their pens and cameras will bear witness to a new chapter in Jiangsu's economic acceleration, facilitated by the Shanghai-Nanjing high-speed rail route along the Yangtze River.

Venturing deep into the landscapes along the route, the delegation will visit various stops, including the historic Nanjing Station Museum, the newly-built Jurong Station, the modern railway logistics park near the Wuxi West Railway Station, the bustling Taicang Station, and the tranquil ancient town of Shaxi in Taicang. Uncovering the beautiful sceneries along the route, they will get the opportunity to listen to the stories of railway development intertwined with urban growth.

The activity was jointly organized by a number of institutions, including the information department of the State-owned China State Railway Group Co Ltd, with the support of China Railway Shanghai Group Co Ltd, among others.

The Shanghai-Nanjing high-speed rail route along the Yangtze River serves as a backbone in the intercity rail transit network in the Yangtze River Delta region, spanning across five cities in Jiangsu - Nanjing, Zhenjiang, Changzhou, Wuxi, and Suzhou - before converging with the Shanghai-Suzhou-Nantong railway route at Taicang Station and connecting to the Shanghai hub.

With a total length of 279 kilometers and a design speed of 350 km per hour, this high-speed rail line represents the fourth rail link between Shanghai and Nanjing, playing a crucial role in accelerating the integration of the Yangtze River Delta region and promoting high-quality development along the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
