China to issue commemorative stamps for 80th anniversary of victory in war against Japanese aggression and world anti-fascist war
BEIJING -- China Post will issue commemorative stamps on Sept 3 to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
A total of six million stamp sets will be issued, with each set containing 13 stamps. Five million miniature sheets will also be issued.
The set of stamps and miniature sheet, with a total denomination of 20.8 yuan (about $2.9), will be available for purchase at designated postal outlets and online shops for a period of six months.
This set of commemorative stamps, depicting key battles of the 14-year war of resistance against Japanese aggression from 1931 to 1945, features thematic sculptures and historical photographs. The miniature sheet, centered around the commemoration emblem, aims to convey a message of cherishing peace and creating a better future.
