As the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway, the first of its kind in Indonesia and Southeast Asia, marked its second anniversary on Friday, it has safely transported more than 12 million passengers, according to the China State Railway Group.

As of Friday, the 142.3-kilometer railway has logged more than 5.65 million kilometers of safe operation, with the highest single-day passenger volume reaching 26,770, the company said.

With a maximum operating speed of 350 km per hour, the railway has shortened travel time between Jakarta and Bandung from over three hours to just 46 minutes. Since its launch, the line has become one of Indonesia's busiest transport corridors.

To accommodate rising passenger demand, the operation team has steadily increased train services, with daily departures expanding from 14 at the initial stage to as many as 62 during peak periods.

The Chinese-Indonesian team has applied China's advanced high-speed rail safety management systems, adapted to local conditions such as heavy rainfall and seismic activity. Advanced risk monitoring and disaster prevention technologies, coupled with comprehensive emergency response mechanisms, have ensured smooth and reliable operations.

Over the past two years, the line has operated 36,747 train services with an on-time performance rate exceeding 95 percent. Nearly 600 Indonesian trainees have completed systematic training programs, contributing to the cultivation of local expertise in high-speed railway operations, the company said.
