Suspect detained in child abduction case in Hunan

An individual has been detained in connection with an infant abduction in Xinhua county, Hunan province, after the case was reported online, local officials said on Thursday.
The investigative team, which includes local public security, health and market supervision departments, confirmed in a statement that an individual surnamed Liu is in custody, and the case remains under investigation.
In addition, the local government is reviewing hospital procedures for issuing newborn birth certificates, the statement added.
