PLA conducts drills on assault against maritime targets to the southeast of Taiwan

The PLA Eastern Theater Command dispatched task forces of bombers, amphibious assault ships, and anti-ship missiles to conduct drills on vessel-aircraft coordination, maritime target strikes, long-distance raids, and comprehensive support in the waters and airspace to the southeast of Taiwan Island, said Senior Colonel Shi Yi, spokesperson of the command, on Thursday afternoon.
The drills tested capabilities of integrated operations inside and outside the island chain, and neutralizing the enemy at maximum range, he said in a statement.
