Actresses Liu Tao of Nirvana in Fire and Zhou Xun of Red Sorghum also took home best actress awards. Actors Hu Ge of Nirvana in Fire, Chen Baoguo of All Quiet in Peking, Wu Xiubo of A Civic Yuppie in Countrysidewere honored with best actor awards.

Director Kong Sheng, who created Nirvana in Fire, Romance of our parents and All Quiet in Peking was awarded best director. Directors Mao Weining and Li Wenchi were also awarded the honor.

The awards for best screenplay went to Liu Heping of All Quiet in Peking, Liu Debin of Secrets in Tibet and Liu Jing of Romance of our parents.
