The Kunming Aquatic Science Park, in the city of Kunming, Yunnan province, has a site for the application of new, hi-tech water technology that combines basic market rules with government guidance. The park has worked on river-environment governance projects and built a sewage treatment plant with a daily capacity of 30,000 tons.

It has also developed 33 reclaimed water facilities that can each process 7,400 tons of water daily, along with eight village wastewater treatment facilities with a 750-t/day capacity, and 12 water purification facilities and two wetland parks, with water governance work on 26 reservoirs and ponds completed.
