A new English language news portal for Kunming?will be?officially opened on May 15 with the backing of the city's government and from China Daily, who will host and manage the site.

As the capital city of Yunnan province, Kunming is the political, cultural, economic, technological and transport center of Yunnan. It is also the fourth largest city in West China and is considered to be the gateway metropolis to ASEAN countries. The city is famous for its historical and cultural significance and for being an outstanding tourist city.
