Shanghai Disney Resort breaks ground on Spider-Man-themed land

Shanghai Disney Resort officially launched construction of its ninth themed land, inspired by Spider-Man, on Monday, marking another major expansion in the theme park.
The new land, positioned adjacent to Zootopia, will feature Shanghai Disneyland’s first major Marvel-themed attraction — a thrill coaster centered around the Spider-Man. The development will include retail outlets, dining facilities, and entertainment venues aligned with the Spider-Man theme.
This expansion, first revealed at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in 2024, represents the third major addition to Shanghai Disneyland since its opening in June 2016. The park previously added Disney·Pixar Toy Story Land in April 2018 and Zootopia in December 2023.
